The Last Dinosaur

          Long, long ago in Jamaa, before the wolves and animals of all sorts ruled, another creature was dominant. Dinosaurs. Colossal reptilian creatures such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Plesiosaurus. these creatures were massive and had the physique of lizards and such. their heads held small, instinctual, and not very smart brains. Some were herbivorous or some were carnivorous. 

          But there was one plesiosaurus, a dinosaur that swam in the deep blue ocean, who was smarter than the others. his mind was not tinted by evil phantoms or the instinct to kill. This dinosaur sensed things, things no other would know of until they happened. 

He knew the era of the dinosaurs was soon to end. The volcano behind the Temple of Zios was spewing black smoke and lava seemed about to pour from its rocky peak He had a plan, a plan to escape this disaster and be the last dinosaur of Jamaa.

        The next day he packed some fish and and herbs in a large palm leaf as a sort of tote bag. This dinosaur had no friends, the other dinosaurs were cruel and nasty to nice, intelligent dinosaurs like him, so luckily he had nobody to take with him. He set out, swimming through a chilly river that led from the Crystal Sands, his home, to Mt. Shiveer. The river got colder and colder as he paddled nearer to a cave in Mt. Shiveer where said river led to.Along the way he saw other dinosaurs bathing in the river and lying stretched out in the sun, as if nothing was going to happen. But he knew. He knew the era of the great dinosaurs was going to end.

        As he arrived in the warm hot spring area of Mt. Shiveer, it started. Everything around him seemed to be on fire or covered with ash as the volcano behind Zios exploded and shot flaming ash everywhere over Jamaa.This volcano was huge, and when it did erupt, it was a disaster to all of Jamaa. The only safe places were in caves and underground. Our friend used this to his advantage.Seeing an opening to a small cave next to the hot springs, he desperately swam with all his might to the entrance. He tried to avoid the embers falling from the sky, but his attempts were futile and in return he got burned where the embers touched him. He reached the entrance to the small cave and looked back to see the world being destroyed around him. It was cold. Very, very cold in this cave. The plesiosaurus laid in the small water puddle that formed in the bottom of the cave, thinking death would soon be upon him.

       This dinosaur stayed in that cave and watched the world of Jamaa go into its Ice Age, his hunger and thirst depending on only fish and cave water. The plesiosaurus felt himself getting colder and colder until he thought his blood was being frozen. After a while of being at a subzero temperature, He realized, he was literally frozen. He didn't know how, but he was still breathing and could move his eyes. But all of his body was imprisoned in the ice. He couldn't move and his food pack was flat on the ground below him, also frozen in the ice. He felt hunger and death creeping up upon him. He couldn't move, he couldn't eat, he was just.. there.

 ~Epilogue~:

          In the new world of Jamaa, animals came to bathe in the hot springs. They always look at the plesiosaurus frozen in the ice and wonder how he got there. They think he was on a brave quest and somehow got there, or fell asleep and woke up frozen, the jamaasian animals had many fables about this dinosaur.

Some think of him as a picture of bravery and determination, for they learned it from their fables. Some say he is still alive, Some say that they see his eyes blink at them. They think he is still alive.

The Lost Melody of the Dawn

          A she-wolf stood upon a ridge, overlooking deep canyons. . home. A crisp breeze carried many scents from the surrounding territories an beyond. The wolf was silhouetted stark black against the sun, climbing over horizon. The newborn light swept over the dieing night sky and gleamed red, orange, and pink and it rose into the new day. The morning light filtered through the wolf's fur, making her white pelt gleam as if it was far off star. She lifted her head into the wind as it tussled her white-silver coat. The wolf took a deep breath and let out a single, pure note. The canyons echoed back the melody, creating a haunting whisper. The howl was simple, yet filled with many years of emotion, sorrow, and wisdom in the voice. Soon other wolves joined in and the mountains were filled with a symphony, breaking the eerie silence like ice. They howled to the rising sun as it spread its rosy tendrils into the fading black sky. All of the animals for miles around heard it. Even coyotes, badgers, birds, foxes, and the other canyon dwellers heard it. They knew not what it was for, but somehow they knew it was something special. So little rabbits poked their heads from their burrows. They gathered their offspring around them, twitching their long, furry ears in eager attention to the mournful, yet peaceful song. As the pack of wolves howled they could almost sense their long gone ancestors there beside them. The sky turned from red-orange to pink then faded into a pale blue. The alpha motioned her clan to stop with her tail, and the howling ceased. The last notes faded away with the wind. Then all was silent. The pack padded away silently to their dens. Both pack and song disappeared as if it did not exist. Yet the wolves melody lived on in those who heard it. And if you listened closely, you can almost hear the howl of a wolf when the sun overcomes darkness each sunrise...

Hawkflight's Story

             This is how Hawkflight came into her first clan! She was a loner at first , until she met a fiesty young apprentice. See how she had became to be a warrior..

Chapter 1

         I woke up stiff in my burrowed den. Morning arrived, birds chirping, wind blowing softly it was a perfect day. Im Flutter and this is my story.. I walked out of my den, my fur blowing softly against me. I smelled a mouse, crouched down stalking it and pounced. The mouse was delicous, everything was peaceful until one slight little thing. The twoleg place, most annoying disorted place i ever heard of. Rose the kittypet came up to me
   "Hey, I seen cats hunt better than you" She snickered her small claws coming out.
  "What cats" I said sounding a little annoyed.
     "Forest cats, i heard they eat bones and such stuff." Rose sneered.
        I flicked my tail "Whatever" i said walking off into the forest for a rest. I went to the river cursing about the twoleg place. I sat down thinking of what rose said. Suddenly I heard soft talking near me. I followed the noise, knowing that they were those "Forest cats". As i came near the bushed den i heard a threatening snarl.
     "Who's She?" a she cat snarled fur sparked up.
    I flinched a little scared until a dark grey tom came up to me.
     "Roxy you need to shut your trap, you don't need to snarl everytime you see a stranger." He said and then looked at me.
   "Who are you?" He asked calmly.
  "i-i-i-i'm Flutter" I said weakly
 "Don't be scared, were not going to hurt you.. most of us won't" he said looking at Roxy
 "Anyways, im Prince, the cat who should shut her trap is Roxy, the tuxedo cat missing the ear is Square, And his mate Tree." Prince said pointing at them. I looked at Tree and smiled. She was expecting kits.
  "Hello nice to meet you all" I smiled dipping my head. I looked at Prince and smiled.
  "You are welcome to stay" Prince, pointing at a used den.
    "T-t-t-thanks, i will stay here then" I said walking to the old nest about to go to sleep.
  Roxy growled "Whatever have a nice stay" she glared evily going to her nest.
 I laughed queitly since it was the most stupidest thing she said. I closed my eyes knowing i was proud of myself sleeping near other strange cats.

 Chapter 2

            I woke smelling a strong scent of Prince
 "Good Morning" He said right next me. I jumped turning around looking at him.
 "You scared my fur off!" I said a little annoyed. Prince put a mouse in front of me
"I got this for you" Prince said with a soft smile. I looked down at the mouse.
"Err thanks prince!" I said gulping down the mouse. Prince kept on staring me, I shot a look at him then looked down i thought "Why is he staring at me.. it's like he wants to stalk me.." I shrugged and licked my lips of the mouse.
"Want to go on a walk?" Prince said exiting outside.
"Uhhh sure!" I said jumping out of the den walking right next to him. As we go to the river we sat down and talked.
 "You know.. you look exactly like this other she cat but she had darker fur." Prince said with a flick of his tail.
 "Oh really" I said with a purr of amusement.
 "Yea i finally caught up to her and she said her name was Bramble.. Strange name huh?" Prince said looking at me.
"Yea i guess.." I said looking down at the river take a sip of water. Prince still was looking at me, then i looked at him with a smile.
 "umm did you want to ask me something?" I said sounding a but edgy.
"Well.. i didn't want to ask you something but i wanted to "tell" you something" Prince said with a purr
"Ok tell me!" I said with a smile
"Even though we just me-" Prince stopped until Square came running in and pushed me in the river.
"Hey!" I said ears flat, cleaning my fur.
    "S-s-s-s-sorry its just that" I ignored Square untill he said one thing that made me jump.
 "Tree's kitting!!!!!! What do we do what do we do!!!" Square said running in circles.
"Stop pacing and run back to the den!!!" Prince said and then looked at me
"COME ON!!!" Prince yelled. I nodded running through the forest. We were almost there until Square tripped, i came up to him.
"How does Tree put up to you? Come on!" I said pulling him up and ran to the den. Finally we got there, I was about to come in until Roxy blocked the enterance.
"I know how to do this no one come inside, that means you, you shape" Roxy flicked her tail at Square.
           Finally with all that long waiting, those last moments became precious. Roxy came out of the den "Tree has delivered 3 beautiful kits! come inside!" Roxy said with glee. I came inside seeing 3 small kittens curled up at Tree's belly
 "There so Beautiful.." I murmured looking at Tree
"What did you name them?" I asked softly. Tree looked at me then Square
"Well me and Square decided... Red,Hawk,and Hope." she said looking at them.
 I purred as i thought of the name Hawk, I really liked that name hawks were strong,fearless,and brave.
 I curled up noticing Prince curled right next to me, i blushed but then he started to talk.
  "What i was saying at the river.. is that even though we just met, i love you! Your so beautiful... i can't stop thinking about you! Please! would you... Flutter... be my mate?" Prince purred. My jaw droped, I only like prince as a friend! Nothing else!!!
 "I, ummm Prince no.. im sorry but no i like you as a friend.., just a good friend i said looking at him as we were still curled together. Prince ears went flat glaring at me.
 "What?!?!?!" He growled ear still flat

 "Im sorry... i just can't... i don't love you... i like you! As a friend!" I said getting up. Prince snarled ready to attack me

  "JUST GET OUT! I BEEN HAVING TO MUCH PAIN JUST UGH GO!!!" Prince snarled. My ears drooped exiting the den.

  "Bye prince.." I said sadly. Roxy snickered laughing all about. I glared at her.

    "Shut up!" I growled running away to my den. It was dark and i looked up at the sky in wonderment outside my den.

    I whispered. "I kitted once before... my 4 kits are out there.... somewhere...." I sighed and went to my den and felled asleep.

  

Chapter 3

 I woke up , my body was aching after what happened last night. I got up walked out of my den noticing Rose looking at me.
  "What do you want" I said with a mumble then glared at her.
 "Where were you past those days? Finding a home?" Rose snickered. I growled at her still glaring at her
 "Why do you want to know? Are you like a stalker or something?" I said.
"Why are you always so mean to me?!?!" Rose said climbing down the fence coming toward me.
 "Speak for yourself..." I said with a growl. I glared at her ready to attack her as if she was going to attack me.
"UGH! im done with you! i am going to leave my stupid twoleg place and join this group of cats!" Rose growled
"Besides they offered it to me, and said i was special, so bye!" Rose said trotting off in the direction to the forest. My ears pricked as I heard Rose say one last thing.
"She better not follow me.." Rose whispered running away.
"We will see about that.." I said sinking down to the ground following her. As i saw Rose reach the den i jumped into the closest bush near the den. I smelled it and froze.
"No.. it can't be! Prince!" I whispered, shaking putting my head closer to hear what's going on.
"I decided to join!" Rose snarled with pride.
"Good, are you ready for your first mission?" Prince said with a sneer.
 "Of course! what is it!" Rose said.
"KILL FLUTTER!" Prince growled lashing his tail. I flinched, i didn't know what i said to him hurt him that much. I back up and hit a tree, when 3 squawking loud birds cam out of no where. Prince jerked his head back and saw me, he yowled.
"SQUARE! ROSE! FLUTTER IS HERE GET HER!!!!!!" I ran with square and Rose behind me.
 "Come on! we can get her! shes easy!" Rose said with claws out.
 "Right behind ya!" Square said. I kept on running until I stopped dead at the cliff. I knew what I had to do.. I had to jump. I ran back to Square and Rose, then ran away from them, I got the edge used all of my muscles and jumped! There i hanged at the edge of the cliff climbing up to safety.

   Rose and Square's jaws dropped as they saw me, then they walked back arguing all the way.
  "You should have gotten her!, No you should of had!". I stared at them proudly as ever looking at the cliff. I kept running through the deep strange forest. The forest was silent, to silent. I kept running and looking at the direction of the cliff. Just then I bumped into a handsome black and grey tom glaring at me.
 "Im sorry! i wasn't looking at you!" I said giving my chest a couple of embarassed licks.
 "Your in Ironclan Territory!" He snarled. Just then two grey cats came in looking at me. The first one was a beautiful light grey she cat with light blue eyes. The other cat was a grey cat with green eyes.
 "Who are you?" The light grey she-cat said glaring at me.
 "I'm s-s-s-sorry i'll-"
   "I said who are you"

 Chapter 4

 My body shaked and trembled with fear. What do I say? What do I do?
  "Are you going to answer, or just going to do what ever you are doing?" The light grey cat said with an edge.
"It's Flutter... my name's Flutter.. why are you asking all these questions? your not the boss of me." I said weakly
 "We are if your in are territory, we are Ironclan and we will make you leave with no option" she retorted. My heart skipped a beat, this was the "Forest cats" that Rose was talking about! If i join.. maybe that will make me proud! I looked at the light grey she-cat.
 "If possible i would like to join Ironclan, i been looking for a place for moons" I said looking at her. The grey she-cat nodded slightly and flicked her tail.
 "Very well, Follow me, Im Raintail the grey she cat is Greyleaf, and the black and grey tom is Rockpaw." I looked at Rockpaw and his scar across his leg.
 "Nice to meet you" I said with a dip of my head. Rockpaw grunted and chased off after Raintail.
           I followed them as well ending up in a huge clearing where a very dark grey she-cat that had light grey marks in her fur that looked like moons. Raintail walked up to her and whispered in her ear. The dark grey she-cat grunted and looked at me.
 "Flutter, greeting i am Faststar leader of Ironclan and I heard that you want to join" she said with a soft smile.
  "Y-y-yes i do, it be an honor" I said nervously. Faststar looked at me then smiled.
"Ok now.. you seem old to be an apprentice.. even older than Bluestreak..." she murmured
"But your like Rockpaw's age so your going to still be an apprentice." Faststar said with a flick of her tail.
 "Your name will now be...... Hawkpaw! And your mentor will be.... hmmmm.... ahhhh Redleaf!" Faststar called, as a Black and ginger tom came up.
 "Yes Faststar?" Redleaf said.
 "This is Hawkpaw, i want you to mentor her" Faststar said with a smile
"It be an honor!" Redleaf smiled.
"Very well Hawkpaw, this is Redleaf your mentor now touch noses" She said looking about.
Redleaf came up to me and touched noses. A surge of pride came through me and i smiled.
 "Well since your new here.. i'm just going to let you rest and look around the camp!" Redleaf said making me go into the direction of the camp. I panted, I was nervous I never been around SO many cats. We got the entrance and Redleaf looked at me.
"It's ok there very nice cats" Redleaf smiled going through the entrance. I aslo jumped in seeing many many cats talking, then suddenly stoped.
"Who's she?, What a strange scent! What's she doing here.." All the cats said. Faststar entered the camp putting her tail up to silent everybody.
 "Everyone this is Hawkpaw, I have taken an outsider, Ironclan needs more warriors" Faststar said with a soft grunt. Instead all of the cats started to cheer.
 "Welcome to the clan!, Nice to have you Hawkpaw!"
I smiled then looked at Redleaf.
 "Lets take you to the apprentice den, these apprentices will be happy to meet you." He said. As i got into the den i saw a light brown dusty she-cat, with green eyes, and a grey and white she-cat with light blue eyes.

 "Everyone this Hawkpaw, Hawkpaw this is Lionpaw, Thunderpaw, and Rockpaw" he said.
"Nice to meet you!" Lionpaw and Thunderpaw said at the same time. "Have a nest next to us!" Lionpaw said.
 "Seen her already whatever.." Rockpaw snorted and felled asleep. Thunderpaw came up next to me.
 "Ignore him he can be grumpy sometimes" Thunderpaw whispered "Now lets get some sleep!" Thunderpaw showed me my nest between Lionpaw and herself.
 I got into the nest and found Lionpaw sleeping on my shoulder.
 "Good night" I said looking at both of them.
"Night!"
 "Goodnight!"
"Whatever.." Rockpaw said falling asleep. I closed my eyes thinking about all what has happened today..

Chapter 5

I woke up seeing Lionpaw, Thunderpaw, and Rockpaw outside. Redleaf walked into the den
 "Good morning ready to train?" he said smiling
"Yea!" I said jumping up and running outside. Redleaf looked at me then spoked.
"Well we aren't actualy training, im going to introduce you to all of the cats in are clan"
"Ok!" i said looking a little distraught not going to train. Redleaf showed me all of the cats greystripe,greyleaf,raintail,bluestreak,greystorm,speedyclaws,bearheart and her mate skyheart.  Whiterose the elder,She was so nice to me and sweet.Redleaf looked at me
"Whiterose is my mom and speedyclaws is my dad" he said with a soft smile.
"Wow! your lucky to have a mom like her she's so nice" I said with a jump.
"Yea.." he said "Come on lets go out in the forest its nice outside" he said walkin toward the entrance.
"Oh uh... ok!" I said bounding up to him going to the forest. The forest was beautiful, the birds chirping, wind blowing, so many things blooming with joy. Redleaf lead me toward a clearing where we both sat down.
"Well since were hear, we can talk what you need to have before becoming a warrior" he said flicking his tail.
 I listened earing every word he said.
"You need to learn how to fight.. hunt.. be loyal.... fearless.." Redleaf said clawing the ground.
 I clawed the ground as well making deep claw marks. In a flash Rockpaw jumped out of no where, seeing him catch a bird. My mouth dropped that was a remarkable catch!
 "Nice catch Rockpaw!" I said with a smile.
"Uhh thanks.." he said shuffling his paw, his mentor Redtail came out.
"Good job Rockpaw you have past your assesment, you can be a warrior now!" She smiled
"Really! awesome! i cant wait!" Rockpaw jumped up and down then looked at me.
"Try beating that" he smirked catching up with Redtail going to the camp. My ears went back annoyed by him.
Just then I heard a loud yowl, that came from the way to are camp.
"Faststar's having a clan meeting we better get there fast!" Redleaf said running toward the camp. I giggled running after him. We were almost there as we got through the tunnel, then we got to the camp sitting down and watching Faststar speak.
 "Today Ironclan, we have a new warrior" she said looking at Rockpaw with a smile. I smiled as well looking at Rockpaw, noticing he was looking at me to. I looked down emabarassed. Faststar countinued her speach
"Rockpaw, do you promise to protect this clan even at the cost of your life?"
"I do"
"Then by the powers of starclan your name will now be... Rockclaw!" Faststar cheered.
"Rockclaw! Rockclaw!" everyone cheered. I cheered loudest excited for him.
"This meeting is now over, go back to your duties now." Faststar said walking to her den. I still smiled, when it stopped when i saw a black cat stare at me, i shivered as i saw her. She started to scare me and i didn't even know who she was!
The strange cat snarled at me then padded to the warriors den.

I flinched then seeing Whiterose walk up to me.
 "It's ok dear Shadepelt can be.. unusual to the new commers.." Whiterose said with a nudge.
"It's getting dark we should get some sleep now" She said padding to the elders den with speedyclaws.
I smiled, Whiterose was my favorite from the clan, she was so sweet. I padded into the apprentices den notcing lionpaw, and thunderpaw asleep. I smiled crawled up next to them thinking. Why was Shadepelt hissing at me? Do i have a problem? i dropped of what i thought then fell asleep.
